Icy San Antonio

Back from San Antonio a day late. There was an ice storm there while we were there and a snow storm here in Portland. When we arrived in San Antonio it was 70 degrees but it quickly changed. I took over 800 photos. SA was pretty coool town for Texas. We stayed on the river and probably didn't travel further than 6 blocks in either direction from the hotel. On our stranded day we went to the Alamo twice and roamed the streets. Here's a fist set of shots of the ice, the river, and a big cloud of black birds that congregate at dusk. I am surprised none of us were shit on! It is wonderful to be back home in Portland and Elliott agrees. Posted by Picasa

Texas bound

I am on my way to Texas for a trade show..... hope I don't get republicanitis.
They must carry germs that I am not immune to! Anyway, I survived Austin last year.
Here are three of my fave pics from my trip to Austin last year including the good ole state capitol. I will surely suffer blog deprivation since I am not taking my computer. Posted by Picasa

I have spent hours singing and dancing in various living rooms with friends. Here's my Mum and her best friend of over 40 years doing the same. Posted by Picasa

King Mango Strut

The last bastion of liberal anarchy in South Florida.
Or, as the saying goes, "Keeping the nut in Coconut Grove."
Held on Dec 31 each year for 25 years, the parade mostly makes fun of the year's events and
pays homage to certain folks. From top to bottom we have:
"Another Lame Brain Idea From a Lame Duck President" making fun of
George's idea to build a wall around Texas to keep Mexicans out. I think they should ship GWB
back to Texas and then build the wall to keep folks like him IN. The next two are a float paying
tribute to James Brown. The last one is "Viva Las Vegas" spoofing the Florida lottery fund supporting education. Posted by Picasa

Holocaust

Kind of a sad way to end the year. This is the holocaust memorial on Miami Beach which I have always wanted to photograph with my Lensbaby. Posted by Picasa
