Elliott will no doubt be in some kind of kitten orbit while I am gone.

I think they droppped Jesus off while I was at Beethoven's Haus as a matter of fact. I am quite sure I would have noticed Jesus IN BROAD DAYLIGHT.

When he's not making me bleed or tearing the curtains down
he is very sweet and cuddly. He is growing like a weed as you can see.
His eyelashes are singed. He held his own furry candlelight vigil for Ted Kulongoski.

While we are on the subject...

These were taken back in March. No leaves on the trees.
I am lucky, I have seen them almost every time I go out there.
They are Roosevelt elk. In the heat of the summer they spend a lot of time in the mountains but you can see them here in Spring and Fall. There is a program in place to feed them in the winter. I am going to volunteer this winter.

Went for a drive today to Vernonia and Mist and Jewell.
It was sunny and warm and the elk were glad to see us.
Hard to believe that humans actually drive out here and shoot these guys.

I was invited to go to the "haunted" corn maze last night. I was initially skeptical but it turned out to be fun. The funnest part was hiding in the corn and jumping out and scaring the hell out of people. They had staff members doing that also and we managed to scare a few of them.

Gay congressman's spouse denied benefits

BOSTON - Former Rep. Gerry Studds, the first openly gay member of Congress, was married to another man in Massachusetts at the time of his death, but the federal government will not pay death benefits to his spouse.
Studds married Dean Hara in 2004 after gay marriage was legalized in Massachusetts. But Hara will not be eligible to receive any portion of Studds' estimated $114,337 annual pension because the 1996 Defense of Marriage Act bars the federal government from recognizing Studds' marriage.

Kittenhood goes very fast. He has grown a lot since I took these.
